Blue Jays in central Missouri are identified by dark legs and a black beak, eyeline, and breastband.

Blue jays have a distinctive blue crest and upper parts with bright blue wings and a long blue tail.

More Blue Jay Facts
The the tail and the wings are marked with black bars and white patches or corners.

A grayish-white throat and upper parts are also distinctive features of the blue jay in central Missouri.
